With all the craziness going on in some parts of the world right now, we feel pretty lucky to call New Zealand home. We aren’t completely insulated from the events of 2016, but there’s a good feeling about being across the other side of the world from where these events have been happening.
Why you should visit New Zealand
If you’re feeling a bit depressed about recent events, perhaps you should come and join us Down Under, in what we think is the world’s most beautiful country. Why? Well, here are some reasons:
New Zealand is regularly voted as one of the best places to live in the world
Yes, it’s an expensive country to call home, but our lifestyles are hard to beat. Even though we live in the middle of the country’s biggest city, we can sit on a beach with no other people and hike in gorgeous forests no more than 45 minutes drive from our house. We have some of the most beautiful beaches and mountains in the world. With landscapes like this, why wouldn’t you want to come here?
We have delicious wine, beer and food
Our restaurant and cafe scene is fantastic, and locally produced wine, beer and food are second to none. Drown your sorrows in a glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir or a Wellington craft beer. If you’re more of a sit-on-the-couch-with-a-tub-of-ice-cream type of person, our ice-cream is top notch too.
It’s easy to disconnect and appreciate nature
With the overload of sensationalist information and commentary in the media, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Fortunately, many parts of New Zealand – particularly in the bush and mountains – have no cellphone signal. It’s a good opportunity to get away from it all and appreciate the natural world.
Kiwis are a friendly bunch
New Zealanders are downright friendly, we will embrace different cultures and make anyone feel at home in our country. Come and experience our kiwi hospitality and you might never leave!
The sun rises here first
We are the first in the world to see the new day, and as Obama said, no matter what happens, the sun will rise in the morning. We think there is no better place to live and to experience that sun rising, so come and join us!
